I just came across a really good article on vibration control on the Fanuc Robots. They are providing LVC technology to reduce the vibration and improve the cycle time. Vibration measurement can be done with accelerometer. Fanuc LVC also using the same technology. They have placed accelerometer at different joints and places,Measuring the vibration on real time and optimizing it for better speed, more accuracy and minimum vibration.

Thanks but it partially covers my query I need to check if my gears are working fine or having vibrations more than normal. Vibration analysis should be able to indicate the problematic area .. i hope i am clear here

Pardon me ,
I thought may be LVC technology would fulfill the purpose. If you want to perform an experiment to determine the vibration and later want to compare the results. Here i found two research paper on determining and monitoring the vibrations on gear system.
You can search the website for more information or more research paper , on how to perform the analysis. These are experimental basis and results are physically calculated.
