Answered Best and Beast FANUC Robot?

Hi guys!
I know it is very basic question but I wanted to ask. So here is my question.

What is the best type of Industrial FANUC Robot which is capable to operate in vacuum environment such as chamber and is also able to reach to about 72"?

Here are a few details.

  • The arm must be anthropomorphic in order to function correctly over a movable platform having 7 axis.
  • The robot must be able to operate over 10^-6 torr.
  • No petroleum products be used in the robot.
  • Vacuum grease must be used instead of common greases such as Krytox.
  • Payload should be around 35 pounds.
  • Teflon material must not be used as it grows under vacuum and is shrinking in atmosphere.

Any suggestions will be appreciated...

    Hi ishaq,

    • First of all i would suggest you to have conversation with the manufacturers, who can guide you in the best possible way. 
    • Most preferably I would be starting with a clean room having robots because their design is being intent for elimination of the environmental contamination.
    • The type of grease must be applied as per preference of manufacturer, but changing grease type is not an issue. In my opinion it will be voiding the warranty of robot if you don't apply compatible greasing.
    • When it comes to payload, it's reach payload must be fine. 
    • Plastic material is not significant issue especially when it comes to the external wiring.

    I would recommend again to contact a manufacturer and ask for the information.
