FANUC VLANs and Ethernet I/P Communication

Hi all !!
I am having a big FANUC system having different ETHERNET devices. It has a main dell connector for Power and 7024 ETHERNET switch and I am using for managing it for ETHERNET traffic. However, in DELL switch I have set up VLAN for cutting down on the ETHERNET traffic for its ETHERNET card and I am also having Control Logix PLC. There are a total 3 of it.

Now I am having LR mates on the same FANUC system having controller R30iA version 7.7. I am having trouble with its controller. My PLC is on VLAN 3 with an IP address of 172.16.3.2 for example, my robot is 172.16.4.3 (subnets are set at 255.255.0.0).

I am having safety CIP connection and it is working fine but the normal ETHERNET I/P connection is going IN and OUT. However, about 1 second of better response, it has no connection for next 7 to 10 seconds and then connection re-establishes. I know my PLC is configured correctly since when the switch is at factory settings it works just fine.

I am curious if anything is in the I/P connection of FANUC that is not allowing the VLANs and I/Ps to work?

I am having a similar setup before and it worked fine, but I didn't have ETHERNET safety. 

Any suggestions will help.

    Hi...I am going to ask you few questions that how are you having the ENET cards connected to the racks of the robot? Moreover, you have mentioned that you are having 3 cards...right? So if the dell switch is managing then what are hte RPIs doing for the connections?

    Please note that Rockwell is not allowing numerous devices to be connected to the same ENET card for having duplicate IP addresses in the version of 20 or lower of the RS Logix 5k.....I believe that its version 21 which is you can get away with any of the ENET connection for the robot you have mentioned from the fact of 1 ENET card in the rack of robot and is using ETHERNET over IP safety standard along with I/O together.

    Therefore, you are required to assign seperate IP addresses to the E/IP safety module in that of I/O configurations tree in the L5K and its standard I/O must havea  hpst name. FANUC is adding up a DNS server to the robot software that can resolve the host-name. There is going to be a variable of system for the DNS server. I have been using this myself for several occasions and is working at great success when it is compared to using the separate ENET cards in the CLogix rack.
