Picking and placing through FANUCs with Cognex and KuKa

Hi Juan,

You will need the conveyor tech from KUKA to be able to get the part from the belt and the belt will need an encoder to give the feedback to the robot and to allow it to follow the belt.

Typically those applications work in the following way:

1. The camera captures the position and orientation of the part in a given encoder position of the belt.

2. The robot uses that information to pick the part and follows the belt automatically using an internal software (in that case (KUKA) it is named conveyor tech). If you can’t afford the “conveyor tech” then you will have to ensure that the belt won’t change it’s speed during the pick operation and make all the movements calculations. Hi, such applications are only working when the camera is capturing the orientation and position of the given part with encoder belt and when the robot is using all information for picking the part and is following the belt or mover autonomously through an internal software. goodluck with the solution of the problem.

I have seen few videos, how this tracing is done . Not program thing but physical thing . Check this videos on this forum. I hope it may help.
