External Stepper Motor Control

Hello Everyone ,

I am working on a project. I want to attach an external servo stepper motor and control it with the Fanuc Teach pendant. Is it possible ?

    On which axis of the robot do you want to add the motor? and do share your robot name also. It would be easy to help you out then.

    I have Fanuc LR mate 200iD , 6 axis robot. I want to make a servo gripper. Which will be operated by servo stepper motor. So , I want to control opening and closing of gripper with teach pedant.
