Hi People,
I am currently busy with an automation project. Since I found this forum pretty much informative and helping i would like to ask you guys for some suggestions, we are selecting a robot for an assembly line. Main task of the robot would be to invert or flip sides of a light material pack and shift it from one conveyor to another. Conveyors are placed with a distance of 1.5 feet.

Do you need definitely a 6 axis robot? If I understand correctly your task, a scara or delta type robots fit better. These types of robots are faster and they were developed exactly to pick and place tasks.
From the Fanuc scara portfolio the SR-6iA is a good choice. I suggest you to take a look at it.
