Answered FANUC which is Ceiling Mounted

Hi all,

I am in need of some real help. I am having a FANUC which is ceiling mounted. Yes, it is ceiling mounted and now I am interested to invert its world axis so that it is played normal. I have checked its parameter "$Paramgroup[1].$Mount_Angle = 180 and then cycled it to the maximum available power.

Now, the trouble is that I do not have an idea whether I am missing a parameter which has not yet shown up?

    Hi Chang,

    I don't think that you are needing to change the world frame because I am always defining a user-frame whenever the robot is on the mounted angle.

    Hi,

    In order to give you solution of the problem, I will need information of robot model and controller platform.

    For example, M710i with an RJ3iB controller etc?

    Hi Chang,

    You should back up it immediately and make an image file for the robot. After that you have to enter in a controlled start through its POWER start and then POWER OFF the robot and hold previous and next buttons. You have to be patient while doing this. By the time you have had entered all data in to the configuration menu then select the controlled START and after the controller is booted up. Press menu and select 9 maintenance.

    Then select F4 and press enter till to you get to the mount angle selection. After that you have to enter the exact value of mount angle and then press enter after that continue to press enter until you get back to the maintenance menu, then cold start the robot by pressing FCTN and then enter. A few of the mount angles are not supported by FANUC though and may void the warranty and cause motion issues.

    However, I am not very sure of the world coordinates would be corrected but such options like the collision detection are going to work because the robot is going to see gravity properly. In case if all seems good then your issue will be resolved.
