How to Create a Mechanical Unit for a Second Conveyor

Hello,

I'm currently working with an IRB 920 and an OmniCore C30. In RobotStudio, I want to simulate two conveyors. I managed to set up the first conveyor successfully, it works fine. However, when I try to configure the second conveyor, I can't create a connection; the option is greyed out.

From what I understand, the mechanical unit associated with the first conveyor (CNV1) is properly created in the controller. However, I can’t figure out how to create a second mechanical unit, for example, CNV2, that I could link to the second conveyor.

Is this an option I should have selected earlier? Thank you!

    Hey Charles-David,

    You can find the template files for additional conveyors in the folder C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\ABB\RobotWare\RobotControl_7.xx.xx\options\cnv

    In RobotStudio, load the files cnvici2_eio.cfg, cnvici2_prc.cfg, and cnv2_moc.cfg. (Repeat for additional conveyors.) and restart the controller.  Once complete, you will be able to configure the second mechanical unit.  ***Do not load the file named cnv2_eio.cfg, it is for a different tracking module.

    Hello Aaron, it's working perfectly, thank you!

    I've started creating movement sequences and I'm having no problems until I switch between one conveyor and the other.

    My first conveyor carries parts and the second carries boxes.

    Each box must contain three parts. In my sequence, both conveyors are in continuous motion without acceleration and it's possible that the conveyors aren't moving at the same speed.

    Currently, I'm using a WaitWObj for CNV1 and CNV2, so I only start picking parts when I detect a box. I perform the pick movements in the CNV1 WorkObject and then drop the WorkObject. However, when I want to move to the drop point in the CNV2 WorkObject, I get an error saying that the WorkObject is not connected, and I should perform a WaitWObj. I've already created my WaitWObj when I was waiting for a box to arrive to start my sequence, and re-creating WaitWObj for conveyor 2 would mean I'd only have one part per box.

    Is there a way to work with two dynamic WorkObjects?
