My FANUC is freezing up when I make backup

Good day to you. 

Few things you can perform. 

1. Update your firmware. As Fanuc rarely update firmware , but if there is bug it is needed to update. 

To perform update kindly follow below steps. 

• Poweroff and On 
• Press Down the PREVIOUS and NEXT button at the same moment.  While it is booting up to enter into a CONFIG. 
• In CONFIG Menu  - > Maintenance .
• Update Firmware

2. Try to transfer file with FTP.

3. Check HTTP authorization.

4. Check your Ethernet cables.

As per best of my knowledge, you should go with following solution.

You should simply unplug the ETHERNET cable which would bring it back alive.

Once it happened to me and this method acted as though it was totally frozen, even the TP wouldn't respond to multiple key presses even for several seconds.

Good God I think this is happening to everyone.

I was having such problem when I used my R30iA. It used to froze while I backed up its data. However, it happened to me while using USB but not through a network. 

In my opinion it is freezing at the time when robot is busy all the time because it has happened to me all the time whenever I tried to backup the data while robot was in running mode without stopping. However, I have never observed it whenever I stopped production line and robot had nothing to do.

Therefore, I suggest you that your robot is just fine, all you need to do is put it to OFF production when making backup.

Seen this problem before, I just change for another USB key and it never happen again.
