Answered Unknown ports of my FANUC

Dear all,

I am having my FANUC M710iC which is equipped with a controller R30iA. I am seeing few ports in the robot near J1 and J4 axes i.e. AS1 and AP1.

I am not aware of its use. I am not able to get much information about it.

Can anyone of you guide me related to this?

    Hi coleman,

    Both AP1 and AS1 ports are free to be used as these are cables which are running through base of robot to J4.

    You can also use these for the purpose of digital Inputs and outputs etc.

    Can you please tell me how would I be sending position data from my PC to controller? I require to store the data in a position register.

    Dear Howard,

    FANUC is offfering a PC SDK allowing a user for writing codes in Visual Basic language to receive and transmit data from and to a robot.

    Moreover, a user is also allowed to use KAREL for writing customized codes such as socket messaging or read file uploaded from PC via FTP.
