FANUC machine Vision

Hello again,

I am working on a automation project of robotics through a system of machine vision. I am not having any machine vision camera system with me and I know that IRVision cameras are way too costly.

Is it possible to interface an ordinary camera or webcam with the R30iA controller. Please help me out. If it is not directly interface able with controller,is it possible to connect a PC between the 2? (post 15) laurance

    Dear Miss Price,

    I have my personal recommendation for you that when it comes to FANUC's use of IRVision camera, even if it is costly, you are going to win in sense that you would be saving a lot of time.

    Hello ,

    No ,  It is not possible to connect any ordinary camera to iRvision. As it requires some special conditions to be satisfied. Camera must have specific I/O ports. It should generate certain picture and video quality with H/V ratio to match with the controller system. That can identify and perform the task accordingly. It should work on certain illumination level and generate error as well if it is not capturing the data according data over it. There are many more requirements which is why only certain companies design this type of cameras.

    i.e . sony xc-56 , congnex etc.
