Answered FANUCs Safety for avoiding collision?

Hello guys,

I have to use 2 FANUC robots for an application picking up from common bench and are rotated in X. This will be resulting both robots for picking among 9 positions over then bench, however always having a constant distance among them.

What I want to ask is that how am I going to have a surety that both robot will not be colliding as a result of an error? I will not set a space function as positions are constantly changed. Therefore, can someone tell me whether there is any way that robot is knowing its position automatically?

The robots are supposed to be connected as slaves within a network having PLC as master and Profibus. I am able to link both but the it is within last mile. How could I make a safety system to avoid a collision?
