Answered compatibility of TP

Hi guys,

I am working on an old robot  and it has RJ2 controller it has a Teach pendant also. But I want to replace the teach pendant with a new one. A05B- 2301 - C371, I was told that this TP is compatible with any RJcontroller but it is not running on my robot. it is causing a SRVO-020 ( TP ) and fence open error, anyone having experience of this kind of situation before? Please Help I am stuck

    Hello,

    The description from Fanuc is *OBS TEACH PEND CE / RIA HANDL. This is an RIA (dual channel safety) teach pendant which is, i am afraid, not compatible work with an RJ2. Only possible way it will work is that if you had a GM Spec "Control Reliable" RS1/RS4 R-J2 controller which has completely different internals to make it Dual Channel. Depends on the software you are working on you will need a TP with part number A05B-2301-C Series (300,301,302,303,305).

    For SpotTool software you should have A05B-2301-C300. You can easily buy a used one bcs the new ones are quite expensive from Fanuc.

    I hope you find your answer but a newer teach pendant will not work on older robot and vise versa because the estops are dual channel on newer robots.
