Answered RJ3 controller security

Hi experts, I am having a problem,

I am interested to know that what are you people using for the purpose of security for the purpose of security of RJ3 controller? I want to ask because there is no kind of DCS and for getting the approved security for the controller or drive, it has to be turned OFF, when someone is pusing the emergency STOP. So tell me that are you guys using any contacts with the drives for this purpose or some new controller.

In case if I am shutting down the entire controller then will it damage anything? Now if I use any other contact for shutting down its driver, then in such case is there any way for doing this? I didn't find anything related to this.

I have another question as well that it is mentioned in FANUCs that for connecting the double pole emergency Switch for stopping the controller, an emergency circuit has to be installed and then connect to *IMSTP on the UOP". Now please tell me that what is the IMSTP stop on the UOP use for? Where it is located on the controller? Is it actually among the 2 contact screws located under plastic cap in the top right which is identified as EMG1 and EMG2. If this is not what i mentioned then please tell me what is the purpose of its use? At first I thought that it may be for double security which I need but currently they are not used and there is no jumper on them and the robot is working.

Moreover, when I am trying to use the output emergency signal then I am getting the message that fuse is blown but actually, none of the fuses is blown as mere removing the wire from its output is removing the error. What can this problem be?

    Hello ,

    There can be two ways. i.e. For human safety and machine safety. For human safety one should not use background logic to perform the safety job. It must have to be done with the I/O ports. 

    In configuration Menu , Select single output to on when someone press the E-STOP button. And link that pushing to the process you would like to stop. Perform this logic in the safety PLC circuit or BG logic. 

    IMSTP is known as a controlled input and it should not be used for safety purpose as mentioned above. Yes , You are correct . You can use IMSTP with EMG1 , EMG2 and EMGCOM with a hardware controller emergency stop.  

    For last query check the E-stop circuit wiring , is the wirings are correct !!
