Alarm: Need to Apply DCS Param (Help me Troubleshoot)

The DCS is basically a software which is abbreviated as Dual Check Safety. 

I can post it's Master Code here if you really need it.

It is actually a safty option. Therefore, i would suggest you to understand it well before changing any of its parameters.

Check if you have added DCS Package . Serialize robot from robot properties and check if whichever option you have purchased is added or not .

On next step ,

Go to Menu --  Next --- System ---Master/Cal

If Master/Callibration is not visible in menu then enable it 

Go to Menu -- Next -- System  -- Variables  --- MasterEnable --- 1.

Now Master/Cal will be in the menu.

1. Now perform zero calibration master -  F4

You should get warning "SYST-212 Need to apply DCS parameter"

now GO TO  Menu  --- Next --- System --- DCS

Move down to Mastering parameter - CHGD

-- Click on  Apply F2

Enter Code 1111 or Password you have assinged

Click on  (F4)

Should show Mastering parameter: PEND

Cycle Power

Test by putting in World Frame and make sure the tip moves in the desired X,Y or Z directions

Dear Mckanzie,

For this there is a default password i.e. 1111. The error which you are having is because of FANUC DCS performing its job. 

By the time when you are done with the creation of cell from the backup then start modifying the DSC from another unused robot, even if it has a ZERO value.

After this, you are required to apply the given password i.e. 1111.

The same situation will be in a similar case if you will reteach the TCP. 

It means that indirectly you are going to modify your DCS zones which is requiring another apply.

I also got the same error "SYS-212, need to apply a DCS param".

I want to know how would one confirm if its the parameters of DCS?

I am not able to enter in to the MENU, SELECT, and some other function. You have to type communication log, recovery, log apply, system log, motion log, and alarm log only.

I Will guide you through a very easy technique.

Go to Menu then click next then click system then type F1 then DCS. Then apply the password i.e. 1111 and then wait. Click on OK and then wait for cycle power.

Hi, I have a similar pb with a robot M410 iC : it display  "SYST-218 dcs unvailable" robot model and "SYST-212 need to apply to dcs param"

What should I do?

In dcs display (system/dcs), it show "CHGD" next to two axes

this worked for me:

1. menu 

2. 0 next

3. 6 system

4. 7 DCS

5. ↓ cursor to 3 Cart. position check: (mine said unsafe and was red)

6. Click F5/UNDO

7. say yes that you want to undo

8. you should be able to reset the SYST-212 alarm now.

9. Now you can move the robot so it is in a safe zone.

having a similar issue when i go make an adjustment to my offsets X,Y,Z i get a  dcs alarm. I usto be able to make adjustments with out having the dcs alarm, anyone know wats going on? What can i do to make it stop getting that alarm since its time consuming doing power cycle while running production.
