Answered Transferring the rotational data to the machine tool through IR Vision?

Hello FANUC experts!
I am going to integrate my FANUC R2000iB 185L controller with an IR vision package. I had an important question regarding transferring the data from robot to that of machine tool. 

I am interested to use the vision for determining the rotational angle of the part and then send the data to machine tool for giving an offset to the "C" axis. The main reason for doing this is that I am not having enough room for rotation of robot to pick and place parts at the offset. 

So basically my question is that i know i am able to see the rotational value with robot but can anyone of you please recommend me a better way of sending the data from robot to machine tool?

I shall be obliged if anyone could help me with this.

    Hi friend,

    If i were at your place then I would have started it from machine tool side.

    However, you would be knowing that what is the protocol to be used and how will you be receiving the data.

    Moreover, please tell me whether you are able to make the lathe properly process data received?

    Dear Isa,

    I am happy to tell you that, right now i am working on the implementation of this concept. You are having FANUC control? If yes, then the easiest way to go is through IO link. However, it's biggest problem is that this FANUC is treating almost everything as IO and there is almost none method for passing the data. The values are needed to be manipulated before the transmission starts.

    You can think of the old RIO data handling methods. You should divide 100, truncate to a whole number and if the lathe is not having the control system of FANUC then it is going to be worth investigating if its could take any ASCII/SERIAL data. I have recently put a CONGEX camera to my FANUC machine but has few problems to be troubleshooted.

    Like I have said the data passing was more or less of certain converted BCD/BIN values. I have used the machine tool interference option before.
