We have a 2 R30ib controllers with 2d vision cameras for each mounted above a conveyor. It looks at 8 different part type and gives offset information to the robot for the pick location for the tool. There is one conveyor and 2 robots, one on opposite sides. Since the last upgrade for new model parts, only on 1 robot /camera set, there was one set of parts that the locator tool would mis identify the part as one of two other types because the inspection areas were too similar. This past weekend i removed the emphasis areas and then masked the areas with similarities. When i did the snap/find on the stationary conveyor i got really good scores in the 90's. But once conveyor was moving the locator tool was unable to locate the part? I'm new to this system and learning on the fly , has anyone suggestions on what might be the issue?

Is there an encoder on the conveyor for the tracking? Cn you show us the vision process that you made?

I think my stability is bad. Looks like i need to reteach instead of editing emphasis area and mask.

Hi Michael,
Maybe that's the cause. I suggest running the conveyor more slower and check if the robot goes at the pick position or if it's offset. If the robot is offset, you will have to do the calibration with the grid following the steps one more time.

i did slow down the conveyor by 30% to see if that helped, it did not. As i said i am new to vision, never having set one up there is a lot involved, thanks for your input. I will update asap.

If you connect your PC to the ethernet port of the robot, you should have access to the vision setup interface and see the step by step calibration of the vision process. Be sure to select the one that involve the tracking of a conveyor.
