Brakes of my FANUC are abnormal.

I am really stressed because i am having a very problematic issue these days.

I am in search of someone who has better aspect for determining the causes of abnormality in brakes of FANUC robot?

I am having SRVO 018. I have tried to sort out this problem myself and I tried disconnecting RM1, and an error appeared. Therefore, I also disconnected CRR88 on the ampere. Then there was no error to appear. Therefore, I replaced RM1 but still was an error, hence I replaced AMP and axis control card. Still error appeared.

I then measured cables, and nothing strange was found. After a while we discovered brake connector J4 got hot. I then replaced connector and fault didn't came back.

Does somebody have a good method to determine which causes the problem?

    Hi Frankie!

    As per manual if Servo 0-18 An excessive brake current is detected. The seven-segment LED on the servo amplifier indicates 1.

    (Action 1) Check the robot connection cable (RM1) and cables internal to the mechanical section for a short-circuit and connection to the ground.

    (Action 2) Replace the servo amplifier.

    You should try this first and let me know if it clears the fault.
